It’s
so easy to get stuck in the “culture” of Christianity. We’ve
got our own place to hang out (church), our own music, our own language, and
even own clothing lines. But the call of Christ is to go OUT, not stay IN. With this
six-week series, I wanted to really challenge our students to take God’s
message of love to the people that need it most—those outside the church.
Whether it’s talking to their friends about their personal story or doing
a service project or just leading an unashamedly godly lifestyle, I wanted to
encourage students to live life outside the church with the same love they see
inside it. Part of
this is letting them know up front that it isn’t easy and it isn’t
safe. But we can be free to love boldly because of what God has done for each
of us. It’s a powerful thing to know you are forgiven. I hope and
pray this series will light some fires in your students’ hearts. And that
for those who have a passion for Christ, it will give them the message they
need to head out the door. There’s a world out there desperately in need
of God’s love. Doug Fields |
